What could be wrong with DD?? UTI, Molars or something else??

My DD is not quite 24 months but I thought I may find more responses here since she will be 2 in September.

The last week or 2 DD has been on and off whiny and cranky.  Just not herself.  I can't figure out what it is.  She also had a fever for 24 hrs last Friday.  It got up to 102 but no other symptoms.  Took her to the dr to have her ears checked and all was clear. 

Could she be getting new molars?  I tried to look in her mouth yesterday but didnt see much going on.  Her gums didn't look swollen.

My only other thought was a UTI?  How do you know when they have a UTI?

Would you take her to the pedi to check for UTI or wait it out?

Have you noticed if she gets fussy only when she pees-- or maybe she'd be fussy for a few moments and then good for a few hours? I don't know, I have no experience with UTIs

I could never see swollen gums but I could feel them. When all her teeth are in, she'll have two sets of molars (8 total teeth) so if she hasn't gotten he last set (the "two year old molars") it's completely possible they are coming in. I hear they suck. My LO's weren't so bad but every kid is different. Give her frozen fruit or peas to chew on.

My DD1 had the WORST time with her molars. It was awful, she wouldn't eat, always was complaining and randomly crying. I thought it was a cavity but the dentist said it was simply her molars.

It could just be a virus too.  My DD did the same thing two weeks ago.  She had a stomach bug, that passed and then she ran a fever for one day.  When I called the nurse advice line they said without other symptoms there's no way to diagnose and nothing to treat.  All told it was a bout two weeks before we got our baby back.
