We're still in the NB stage (doing a rental of Lil Joeys, Simplex, and BG NB) but I want to go ahead and ensure I have enough pockets and AIOs once DS outgrows the NB stash.
My plan is to mainly (exclusively?) have BG 4.0 pockets and Swaddlebee Simplex OS since I've liked both brands a lot and have friends who swear by the BG 4.0. I aim to have at least 24 total diapers so that I'm doing laundry every-other-day at first and then can stretch it as DS goes through fewer a day.
Three questions:
1. Am I right that Blueberry OS are the same as Simplex OS?
2. Can I wash the SImplex/Blueberry with the BG 4.0 or is there an issue with different materials?
3. Any additional input on this plan?
Thanks!
Re: Building My One-Size Stash
1. Yes. The Swaddlebees name was retired and is now Blueberry Simplex.
2. Yes. Wash together.
3. Love both these diapers.
1. The brand is now all known as Blueberry, but make sure that you are actually buying the Simplex if that's what you want. The cut on the other diapers is the same or similar, but Blueberry makes several styles of pockets, covers, and AIOs. Several online stores still carry the Blueberry brand under both Blueberry and Swaddlebees.
2. You will want to initially wash any of the new cotton diapers you get separately to prep them. You can wash them with towels if you don't have enough for their own load. After they've been prepped you don't have to separate your dirty diapers.
Suddenly my life doesn't seem such a waste,
It all revolves around you.
We used BGs with my son and they lasted, but barely. I'd recommend snaps to prolong their life. As for Blueberries, I'm not a fan. They are crazy tremendous and feel cheap to me.
