So AF showed up yesterday and today was my scheduled beta for IUI #2. They still want me to go in for whatever reason. Before they took my beta, I was sent to the consolation room. As expected, I was given the option for more IUIs and the same protocol or IVF.
First, with how well I respond to the injects and how awesome DH #s are, I am in shock that at least round 2 didn't take. I feel that I am a good candidate for the injection cycles.
With that being said, I don't know if I can handle doing another IUI and having it fail. At that point, I should/could have done an IVF for the same cost with a higher success rate.
So...another IUI @ 3 grand, 1 IVF @ 8-15 grand, or go for the big package of 3 IVFs/3FETs for 25 grand? I like the sound of the last one just because I have 2 tries for dbl the cost, on the other hand, I respond so well to the injects and feel that I really could be successful with IUI.
DH and I will talk $$ tonight. $25 grand is so much, but we are already 6 grand in....

Re: WWYD?
If you have the funds, I would go straight to 3 IVFs/3FETs for 25 grand for the highest chances.
Good luck
Trying since Jan 2011. Unexplained IF.
2 IUIs = BFN.
1 IVF (Dec 2013) = BFN.
FET, 2 frosties (June 13, 2014)
14dp5dt-June 27 -BFP, beta 2061. 2nd beta >5000, 3rd beta >5000, 2 sacs 06/30.
Twin Girls - 02/11/15 - at 37 weeks (no NICU, home with me at 3 days).
I would probably move onto IVF (we are looking at doing the same if this IUI cycle is a bust).
One thing I would check out though is with the 3 IVF package are you required to tranfer all Frozen ebryos before doing another fresh IVF? If you respond well you could end up with a good number of frozen embryos and FETs are a lot cheaper. My first RE gave us prices for IVF at our initial consult. A fresh cycle IVF was around $10 grand plus the cost of meds (another $3-5 grand). I think the FET was only like $3-5 grand (I can't remember off the top of my head).

PAIF/SAIF Welcome!
I would do the IVF package... I am in the same boat as you with the OOP costs....
I am also 36 and want more than one child so the better odds are more attractive especially if I can freeze some embies. I don't think I could do the whole IUI roller coaster again.
