Boy Name Help

I have my girl name picked out but my DH and I are not completely agreeing on the boy name I picked out. I LOVE the name Anthony and DH likes it too but he doesn't like the name Tony and is afraid that people will call the baby by that nickname so he is trying to talk me out of it. Any opinions on names similar to Anthony? I prefer a name that can be converted into a nickname.

What about something like Lorenzo, that can be shortened to Enzo?  If that's too Italian sounding I also like Alexander.

Most people I know with the name Anthony do not go by Tony, and people don't call them that. You can easily call him Anthony and if you hear someone call him Tony, say it's Anthony not Tony. Then you can go with the name you like!

I don't think people automatically turn Anthony into Tony, you should be fine.

My husband is an Anthony that goes by Tony - but it was not automatic.  His mom started it using it.

I know several Anthonys and none go by Tony or are called that ever

I am sure you will find a name. My favorite name was Bennett but my husband was scared people would call him Ben. For some reason, he didn't like that.

The few Anthony's I know go by Ant not Tony. I feel like when a name has multiple acceptable NNs he or she will generally go by whatever the parents an family call him or her when they are young.
