Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

My First Miscarriage

Hi ladies. I'm sad to be joining this group today. I went to the doctor today for my first appointment 8w4d. He couldn't find a heartbeat. We go back in a week to confirm. I have decided to pass it on my own, as we are tight on money and can't afford a DC if I can do it on my own. My dd is 8 months old. Hoping to just put this behind me quickly and move on. Just curious, I didn't ask my doctor today, but is there some sort of a pill or shot I can get to push the miscarriage along? I don't want to wait it out. Just want it to be over. Thanks for your help. Jen

  • I'm sorry for your loss.  We also found out at 8.5 weeks.  There is a pill that will speed things up.  Talk to your doctor about it at your confirmation ultrasound, but I don't know how much it costs.

  • You can take cytotec to speed things up. I was naturally miscarrying at home over the weekend but needed to go to the ER last night because my cramps were so severe. They manually took out remaining tissue and the blighted ovum. My cervix was dilated and tilted so that's what was causing the pain. They also gave me cytotec afterwards. I've had more bleeding but feeling much better. And they gave me pain killers so I haven't felt cramping, just pressure.

    TTC since March 2013. BFP 4/13/13, blighted ovum discovered 6/6/13, m/c 6/8/13.
