Hi I am new here and I thought I would introduce myselfl. My name is Alix Im 25 and I have been married for 3 months. When I was 18 I was diagnosed with PCOS and told I had a year to TTC. I have since seen a better doctor who has given me a better prognosis. I have an appt with a fertility specialist next month but in the mean time I have finnaly convinced my DH that we do not have the luxury of time and that we should start tying ASAP. He was very nervous but he is on board. I cant wait I feel silly for being so opitmistic but I feel that we may not have as big a struggle as I have been prepared for.
Re: Finally TTC!!! Struggles with PCOS
I was told the same thing at 18 except they said " if you want kids you better do it by 24" I got married at 24 and freaked out when I didn't get pregnant right away. I mentioned this to our RE and she rolled her eyes & said there is no magic number and she wished people (other drs) wouldn't say that. Yes you have a better chance if you are younger and time is on your side but that is it. It took me about 2 years to get PG with DD1 ( she is now 5 but I think most of the details are still in my sig.) DD2 was concieved without a problem 2 weeks after I went off the BCP. Good luck, keep your head up & TRY to enjoy the process.

hey there! I was diagnosed with PCOS after the birth of my first child. the doc thinks the trauma of having her at such a young age and the damage she did to my body during delivery started it... *shrugs*
but here I am almost 9 yrs later. still have a few cysts currently but my testosterone levels are finally low enough at the moment for the doctor to feel I can start ovulating.
best of luck to you!
