WDYT of the name Carter?  I actually have never met a child Carter...actually the only Carter I know of is the drummer from my favorite band. I think I like that name though!  What is the general consensus?

I don't think it's a bad name, but to be honest, this is what I think of when I picture someone named Carter:

Someone who was a character on Clueless or 90210.

I like this name. But I will tell you, the first thing I thought of when I saw this was the clothing brand. They have nice clothes though so it shouldn't hurt your decision GL!

I keep hearing it but I really don't understand the draw...sorry. It also reminds me of the baby clothes brand. And it's a last name which I'm personally not into, but to each their own

Carter is one of our top boys names.  However, I love last names for boys which I don't think is popular here.  DS1's first name is a last name too.

I like it. I have a friend whose niece is named Carter Jane, so I like it for a girl or a boy. But I like "C" names in general .

Not a fan.  It's my stepdaughter's name though, so there that connotation, plus the awful last/boy name as girl name.

I know A LOT of Carters.  Most under the age of 2.  In fact, I was at a Carter's birthday party yesterday and his mom was complaining at how popular the name has become in the past 2 years.

I love the name : I am pretty disappointed though as it is becoming more and more popular. I didn't know anyone named Carter before having DS. In the last 3 years I have met or heard of several little boys named Carter.
