Have you ever changed REs or Clinics?

Can you tell me how it went? Did you have specimen in the cryo bank you needed to transfer, how did that go. did you have to redo your testing?

Other general stories etc....lol

 

I think it's time for me to move to a new center, I don't trust my RE or their team. I feel like a number, and everything is done last minute causing me to scramble.

We changed and didn't have any embies to bring over but I got allllll of my paperwork. They did want to redo some of the testing as it had been done a while ago but I'm sure it varies based on the doctor. Honestly, I'm glad they redid some things as they caught something in my b/w that they other spot had never noticed

I changed REs/clinics twice.  I'm not going to say it was all smooth sailing - but  eventually everything gets in place.   Good luck.

I changed REs once b/c I felt like a # to and if we had to go the IVF route, they were double the cost of what my RE charges and they both have similar STAT reports.

We didn't do anything special to leave, we just stopped going, since we didn't have any ties to them to keep us there.  They did fax over my records to my current RE and I did have to additional testing on top of what we already had done...since it was minimal.

I changed 4x and the first two we had no embies. The transition was easy because our 2nd RE knew she could not help us but truly wanted us to succeed so she helped a lot getting all the info we needed to change. The third time we had an embie but chose to dispose of it because we were trying donor sperm. If you have a feeling its not working its best to change immed.

After a canceled cycle, two early losses and a failed FET we changed clinics. We didn't have any frozen embryos to deal with. I just sent my new RE our lengthy medical files and gave strict instructions that the receptionist warn her she would need time to review it BEFORE our consult (which she did). I have been glad I switched even though our first cycle with our new clinic resulted in a BFN. Good luck to you.

I changed RE's without frozen embryos to transfer over.  It is a lot of work to switch RE's, but hopefully worth the time and energy!  Good luck to you!

We're cycling with a new RE/clinic now. It took my previous RE two months to send my files....granted it was a 250 page document but still. We didn't have any frozen embies but MH does have a frozen sperm sample at the old RE office. I've got to ask about that tomorrow ::sigh::

Yes. We changed after our 3rd cycle (last one in the At.tain program) ended in a c/p. Our clinic/doc didn't have the ability/resources/expertise to change up what we were doing for our cycles. Our doc suggested we go to C.CR.M both for their CCS testing and for their ability to mature eggs in vitro, as our "home" clinic offers neither.

We never had any frosties from any of our cycles.

We really felt we got good care at our home clinic and were "happy" with the results (3 IVFs, 2 PGs - albeit they didn't last, but that's not their fault). Still we knew we needed to change, since we got our $$ back from A.tt.ain, we still had it to spend towards IVF.

It was A LOT of work to collect all our records and everything, but totally worth it. 

The timeline was - I contact C.CRM in early Nov, had our phone consult with our doc in mid Dec, had our one day work up (ODWU) at C.C.RM in early January, had a regroup with our doc in late Jan/early Feb (I can't remember) and had our ER at the end of March. We got our CCS results in 6 days (which is very very quick) and of the 6 blasts, had 3 normal embryos and 1 no-result. We did an eSFET on May 31st (it could have been earlier but I wanted a Friday, so I wouldn't miss too much work.)

Hopefully (so hopefully!!!!) we will be able to have the family we've wanted using these 3 embryos.

Yes, and it turned out to be the best decision we've made regarding our IF adventures.  I was a bit hesitant at first...in part, because I was so used to "the routine" at our prior clinic and I really liked the staff there.  But, the writing truly was on the wall that we needed to try out another clinic (unless we were ready to move on to DE, and we weren't quite there yet). 

I did have to redo some of my testing, simply because it had been over a year (thankfully, they didn't have me redo the HSG...but they did have me do a SHG, which old clinic never had me do, and it turns out that was a very good thing since I had scar tissue from prior pg/D&E).

I had some issues getting my records transferred (but that was more an issue with my old clinic) and there were some hiccups with my new clinic (they aren't the most organize, but I have been fair-warned of that by others before going there).

DH had cryo-preserved banked sperm at our old clinic, so we did have to transfer that over.  Was no big deal at all!  We gave old clinic a heads-up and scheduled a day for transfer, picked up prepared tank from new clinic, DH took tank to old clinic to get vials and then drove them (all seat-belted up) over to new clinic.

ADD to my comments: I had to do some of my tests over but some of the more expensive blood ones like karyotyping and a genetic test for me carried over. I did have my 3rd HSG, and my 3rd endometrial scratch/biopsy (this time it was really biopsied) I also got to experience the joy of hysteroscopy as well.

I recently changed to specialists, and very glad I did. I didn't have frozen fet. It was a smooth transition, and just felt right. He helped us with missing puzzle piece, and finally dx me with for. I had to do everything over plus additional tests.
