Does it get any easier?

Hi, all!

I tied my tubes at age 27, after having two natural pregnancies (one right after the other). My husband and I were overwhelmed with all the hard intense work it is to have two babies to look after in less than two years. We were sure we didn't want anymore kids. Now my children are 11 and 10 years old and the old idea of having a big family made us think about a third one.

I am going through the IVF process right now, because the tubes are tied and I can't conceive naturally. So far, everything's fine. From 8 fertilized eggs, one embryo will be transferred tomorrow. Except for the ridiculous amount of anxiety... My body has been responding well to all the drugs, but the emotional load we put on ourselves... Man! It's making me more sick than the drugs do.

Any tips on how to deal with the stress?

    Just breath.....I understand your anxiety.  The feeling of yearning for a child is hard to control.  Maybe, try to see it as that you are excited for the transfer.  But, each time to catch yourself stressing, just take a couple of deep breaths and that will force your body to relax. 

    Best of luck on your transfer tomorrow!

    Pp had some good advice. I am starting IVF next cycle so I haven't been through it yet but I plan to try to eliminate as much of the stress I can control and just focus on work and IVF. I hope to do lots of yoga and meditation during that time and to try to give up control since anxiety is about control and you just don't have a lot of it in this process. Just hope for the best and know that no matter what the outcome you will be okay.
    Me:39 Dx LPD, Fibroid, AMA and all that goes with that. H:37 Dx low motility and low morphology. TTC since 3/12. Clomid 8/12 and 9/12: BFN. 11/12 on a break for Myomectomy sched. 11/26. Resume TTC early 2013.

    It's day 3 after transfer.

    I am still anxious as hell... I hope to bring good news soon!

    Hi,

    I can't vouch for the IVF process, but I had a tubal reversal a couple of months ago and we are just now starting TTC.  I am much older than I was when I got pregnant with my daughter and I am certainly wondering if the old equipment still works :-)
