I think my baby might be ready to consolidate his naps, but I'm not sure.
He's three months (today!) and up until about a week or so ago, he was very consistent about doing eat-play-sleep in 2-2.5 hour intervals. 45 minutes was the max I could get out of him for each nap. Then he started stretching his waketimes and sometimes he even just flat out skips a nap. When he skips a nap, he ends up sleeping longer for the next one. I've also noticed that he fights sleep on some naps (2nd morning nap, last nap of the day) and doesn't on others (1st morning nap, afternoon nap). So the past couple days I've been experimenting and letting him skip naps if he doesn't go down easily. He seems to be fine with that. And I enjoy the longer nap that follows!
It seems to me that he's trying to consolidate naps. What did it look like when your baby consolidated naps?
