Elastic all around the crib sheet?

So Baby Bargains and Dr. Google say to make sure your crib sheets have elastic all the way around, as slippage can be a safety issue. However, the Pottery Barn Kids sheet sets (that I have my eye on) state that "Pottery Barn fitted crib sheets have elastic around the top and bottom only rather than around the entire edge, a feature that makes our sheets safer for your baby."  Uhhh....?? Does anyone know what the actual verdict is on this? I'm guessing it's not a major hazard either way, but if the sheets "should" have elastic all the way around, I'd sew it on the PBK ones just for peace of mind. Thoughts?

I really don't think it matters. It's standard to have it all the way around, but as long as it's a snug fit, I don't get concerned about where the elastic is.  Just needs to be snug.

All of the crib sheets I had for DD had elastic all the way around. I would think that makes it harder for them to get the sheet up at all. Just my opinion though.

This. Every crib sheet I have had to both dd, ds and now the twins have had elastic alll the way around. We have never had any issues with "slippage" and it would concern me that if it did slip the baby could get tangled in it.

I highly doubt it really makes a big difference one way or another. I personally like the elastic all the way around so it stays on the mattress better.

Sounds a little crazy if u ask me. My own bed sheets differ. I have ones that go all the way around and ones that are only on top and bottom. The top and bottom ones seem to stay put more. But really depends how much you move around. And by time ur baby is moving around that much to really pull the sheet breathing and SIDS isn't really much of an issue anymore. A lot of kids I know at age two they sleep with their blanket on their heads.

Ours have elastic all the way around, but I just wanted to throw out there that you should look around for sheets somewhere besides PBK. We have DD's bedding from PBK, but I didnt buy the sheets from there because I could get the exact same sheets from target for a quarter of the price. I got pink gingham, so I f you are looking for solid, stripes, polka dots, gingham, you should look elsewhere. Even if the set you are looking at has fancy flowered sheets or whatever I honestly wouldn't bother with PBK sheets. The price is sooooo ridiculous for 1 sheet when half the time that sheet will be dirty anyway, and then what? You'll get 2 PBK ripoff sheets? No way, jose. Plus in the winter it's nice to have flannel sheets. So then you are only using your PBK fancy sheets for half the year, eff that. Stick with PBK for the cute accent stuff that isn't going to be in the wash all the time (crib skirt, rug, maybe bumper, I got an adorable play mat for wicked cheap there), and get coordinating patterned crib sheets elsewhere.

Thanks for this. I'm trying to coordinate bedding for a girl/boy nursery with hers being bright or hot pink and his being aqua or turquoise. Striking out everywhere for coordinating sets except for PBK. Do you have suggestions or where else to look?
