TTC after 35

CB fertility monitor question

Well we are TTC this week,  I decided to buy a CBFM today it should be here next week.  This way I have it to start my next cycle if we are not pregnant this time.  I figured I can always sell it if we are.  I have been wanting to get one for a few months but have not.

We got pregnant first try back in Dec, ended in Feb w a MMC at 11 1/2 weeks.  We just started TTC last month and I know that I was super lucky at 38 at the time to be able to get pregnant the first time.  I even told my hubby that it will take months.

My question is has anyone used a monitor?  Are they easy to use? When do you start using them when CD1 starts?  I figured it would not hurt to start using one along w the Wonderflo's and the digital confirmation of OPK.

Thanks

Re: CB fertility monitor question

  • Hi-  I usually post on the TTC board but saw your question.  This is my second month using the monitor.  I borrowed it from a friend!  I love it as I am very type A and like how I narrows down your fertile period.  Make sure you ordered testing sticks.  It is super easy to use!  You can set the monitor anytime from CD1 to CD5. Read the instruction book.  You won't start using testing strips until anywhere from CD6-CD9.  I read it takes a month to get used to your system.  The first month I had 3 high then my peak days.  Hope that answers some o you question.

    hello there,

I post on TTC as well, but thought I would post this here since I am 39.  That is what I like that it narrows down your time frame.  I use the OPKs but would like something more as well.  I hated to spend the money but my gut keeps telling me to get it.  Was so hoping to borrow my friends since she does not use it but hate to keep asking her.  Thanks so much it does help!!!

Good to hear. But sad it did not work for her. I have been wanting to try it since my MC. Just needed to do it. Lol. Just so expensive.

I've been wondering about the CBFM as well. Does it take a couple cycles to get an accurate read of your cycle? We are benched for two months so wondering about buying it while we wait on having a consult with a specialist.

The directions say it could take I think at least a cycle to get to know your cycle. Now I wish I got it sooner. I wanted to but just waited. Lol
