BM #1 Vent/Laugh it off

DH went to court this week over child support from BM #1. She filed to get it lowered... This is the 3rd court date since BM filed.. all b/c BM doesn't show up! She didn't get her way this time.. THey had court with the mediator without BM there. Her 17 dollars a week that she pays maybe once every 3 months doesn't do much anyways. BM doesn't contact her children or anything.

Anyways... The prosecutor upped BM's CS payment to 27 weekly, and DH was told that she would not respond to their letters or calls, and if DH hears from BM to call and let the prosecutor know.

BM must have gotten papers in the mail yesterday b/c BM sent DH a text saying "where are you going to get your money when I'm dead" hahahahaah

like her 17 dollars that she fails to pay does anything anyways! Not for 3 teenagers! DH of course sent a smarbutt  reply "from your death ins"

DH contacted the prosecutor as she told him to if DH heard anything from BM. DH read what the text message to and from said and I could hear the prosecutor laughing when DH told her his response.

I just thought BM's text to DH was funny like it was his only source of income. lol.

That is beyond ridiculous. She is deliusional if she thinks 27 dollars a week covers anything. Glad that it worked out in DH's favor but I am so angry for you that you get so little.

DH has been getting 17 a week for years. They just upped it to 27!! BM doesn't pay regularly anyways so her payments are never depended upon. The prosecutor also told DH that this amount would not be lowered even when oldest SD turns 18 because it really isn't that much at all.

$27 a week?!?!?!  What the hell is that supposed to pay for?? These child support amounts always make wonder what the court system is trying to do. 

I guess $27 is better than $17.....

I know right! DH think it's because he is a man.. after doing some research it was because the judge he was going in front of just happened to be BM's divorce attorney! and this is for 3 kids!

I paid CS for a short period of time with no regular source of income and it was $41 a week. for one kid, of course I didn't mind paying.. I was the one to set it up in the first place.

This yipee you all can take the kids to McDonalds maybe even supersize it. She's going to be like my friend's Dad kids grown he was still paying CS. I think he just stop paying 10 years later.

Yeah! Lol. DH works constantly to take care of all 5 SK's and has for years!

And this makes me understand more as to why he is worried about his upcoming court date on Tuesday over CS with BM#2. But there is much more involved with that so that is a totally different post.

I know.. such a shame!

 I forgot to mention BM did buy them some clothes a few months ago but made DH sign the receipt thinking that they would credit that to her CS!

I'm surprised she pays so little. It sucks that some judges are so old school and tend to feel bad for the moms. We had a judge like that for so long, then he retired.

No, Not at all! That's what the prosecutor was laughing about! LOL

The really odd thing is that neither BM or DH live in that county, BM moved from there about 10 years ago and DH moved from that county 3 years ago and they won't move it to the county in which he and the children reside now. I thought that was strange. The judge was her divorce attorney!

We had a similar situation but BM was only ordered to pay $25 a month - total - for two kids.  We rarely saw a payment.  She finally filed a tax return last year and they sent us $500.00 in arrears (owed prior to my adopting them).  I deposited the check and turned around and sent her a check right back for the same amount.  I included a note that said, please file adoption paperwork with the CS Office so they stop garnishing your tax return.  Like PP said, that amount would almost cover a meal at McDonalds.  We don't need her $.  Love your DH's response lmbo!
