I have long, thick hair and I used to use Tresseme shampoo/conditioner. After my shower, my hair was fairly easy to brush without a ton of knots. I'm now wanting to switch to a more "green" shampoo/conditioner, but haven't found one that works as well. I've tried the Everyday Shea (I think it's called - got it at Whole Foods) and the Gud line from Burt's Bees... my hair is a PITA to comb out after a shower, and doesn't feel as nice as when I used the Tresseme.
Any suggestions?
Re: Petroleum/Paraben-Free conditioner that WORKS?
This is what I use and like. My hair is also to the middle of my back and I still only need a tiny bit.
I've used Giovanni conditioners (they smell so nice too!)
You can find them at Target, but often TJMaxx with have huge bottles for a lot less. It's paraben free and has quite a few certified organic ingredients as well.

Costco brand shampoo & conditioner are amazing and best of all, super cheap! It's sulfate free, paraben free, 100% vegan, gluten free, had no animal testing. I've switched months ago and my hair looks and feels a lot better than it did with a lot of other stuff I used. Here's a link to a review:
