My BFF's daughter just graduated kindergarten and is throwing a big party at a Chuck E Cheese type place. I haven't been living under a rock. I am aware kids have kindergarten graduations. I have several nieces and nephews. However, this is the first time I am being invited to a party for a kinder graduation. I went to the ceremony at the school. They had drinks and cookies served afterwards in the assembly hall. Now I have to go to this party in two weeks too? Is this the new thing to do? Am I suppose to buy a present? A toy? Something educational? $ for a college fund?
Re: present for kinder graduation?
Ugh! Sounds like a totally awkward situation!
IMO, $5 in a card is MORE than generous or a small levels book (~$2.50)... I would not think to go over that amount unless it's something like a birthday tied in...
Sounds totally overboard and silly. Sorry but unless this is a HS or college graduation - no party, no gift. This type of stuff is silly and out of hand.
My kids are finishing PreK and Kindy today and nope, I would never have a party and expect gifts for this. You do this now, the child will expect it at the end of every school year.
This!
