Diaper Rash?

He had a full break out of diaper rash a week or so ago, then it seemed to improve, but we still have a small patch with the little bumps.  I read somewhere yesterday that it could be yeast or allergies if it had the bumps and to get him checked out by doctor.  I feel kinda silly taking him in for diaper rash, or should I just wait until his next check up?

Re: Diaper Rash?

  • My lil guys rash was yeast related. They prescribed a topical med for it, I would bring your lil one in.

  • DD had the little bumps, I used Mustela's diaper rash cream and it worked pretty much instantly. I use it all the time now as a preventative.

Don't feel silly about taking him in. Better to be safe then sorry.

  • I use lotrimin AF on that kind of rash. It works well, and my pedi recommended it

  • My little guy hasn't had diaper rash more than a couple times since he only gets it when we use disposable diapers and we cloth diaper most of the time, but when he did get it I tried A&D ointment and found out he was allergic to the stuff.  Now when he gets a sore spot I wash with soap and water, let him air dry (playing naked on a towel for a while is his favorite thing to do!) and put a little vaseline on it when he is dry.  Works like a charm.  I think the best part is to let him be dry and uncovered a little while.
