anyone who tries to sport a fedora. men especially.
Haha I love fedoras! But I guess I'm weird. My husband and his groomsmen wore them at our wedding.
My UO: Getting endless texts and phone calls saying, "The baby will be here soon!" Whew! Thanks for the heads up. For a minute there I forgot I was pregnant.
I have to "sideeye" this. I don't know how many posts you have to have to qualify posting your birth announcement/story on a June mom board. I guess I don't get it because I am also a "newb", but why should it annoy people? You don't have to congratulate them or even care, but it shouldn't bother you that someone has followed or not followed this board and is happy enough to announce their healthy delivery in the Internet world. This birth club is open to any June moms and will be continuing on as our children get older and hit milestones and people have questions/thoughts. Maybe this is a June mom's way of introducing herself to the board? I have seen several older posters saying things like this and I think it's very snotty. Especially considering the fact that it's the same people who *** about this that say things like "it's the Internet, and I'll do/say what I want and you can get over it!". How does this rule only apply to you and your snippy sarcastic comments and not to the people who are happy about their babies? Kind of ridiculous.
Aww you learned about side eye! And yeah, it's weird to go announce to a random group of strangers that your baby has arrived. Personally my "internet" world that will get the announcement is here (where I've been for 6 mos +), FB (um, since it started), and email. Not people who have no clue who I am. There's nothing wrong with thinking it's weird/non typical to wait until after your baby arrives to post- especially seeing this website is actually called "the bump" not "the baby" so the typical forum person likely joins during their pregnancy.
Congrats to the new moms and all, but again, welcome to the UO thread, where we say our opinions- whether popular with newbies or not
Here's my own...I have an indoor/outdoor cat. So many people get judgy over this, so clearly it's unpopular. I love my cat. I'm not a bad animal owner.
My cats are also indoor/outdoor. I see no harm.
Ditto. My cats love going outside but also love to eat - food is inside.
I'm going to be REALLY unpopular here and disagree about the ombre thing. At least in some cases. I would never do it myself but I think it looks great on some people. Maybe it's an age group thing, though. My little sister (16) has really long medium brown hair, and she has it really dark at the top going through her natural color and down to blonde at the bottom. She keeps it up and it looks fabulous on her. If she were older I probably wouldn't like it as much, or if her hair weren't long enough to make the transition look smooth and neat instead of choppy.
ETA: Also, I've dyed my hair all kinds of things in the past because I was bored with my regular hair and didn't want to cut it (I hate short hair on myself). Many of them were blatantly unnatural (fire engine red!). Nothing to do with self esteem, it's just a fun way to express yourself!
My thoughts on ombre (sp?): All I think of when I hear that word is the episode of Friends where Joey gets a job as a cologne sprayer in a department store. He's at odds with this cowboy spraying "Hombre" cologne who keeps encroaching on his "corner". And then Joey and the guy duel and he ends up spraying cologne in a customer's eyes.

Plus another. If that makes me snippy and sarcastic...well, then, nothing has changed about me.

Nerd.
Am I allowed to say that without offending you? I mean it in the good nerd way :P.
I couldn't help but think of the fact that nerd was coined by Dr. Suess... and also... the laugh followed by "I made a funny" makes me think of rats in purple robes. Yay Shredder! Also... I'm either dating myself or proving I'm crazy!!
