Help me decide?

We are so stuck trying to decide between two names.  I tried testing it out with my family and the in-laws, but they had opposing opinions and weren't very nice about the names, so I shouldn't have even bothered! Soooo, what do you guys think?

1. Adelaide (we both love this name more, but don't love the nickname Addi. We do like Lady, but I think people may scoff at that)

2. Eleanor (like it, too, although a little less...but love the nickname Ellie way more)

I like both names. Could you not call Adelaide Adel instead of Adi or lady? Just a extra in case you like it.

I like Eleanor better hands down. Adelaide is a mouthful and I am not sure how you pronounce it. At the end of the day your opinion is the only one that matters so who cares when others don't like your name. Congrats and good luck xo

I love Adelaide, but I would probably use the nn Lay/Lai . Maybe thats an option ?

I have an Addison (Addie)  and so I happen to like that nickname.  Of the two, I do really like Eleanor, with the nickname Ellie.  This was on my list, but we have a friend who used it for their daughter.

Perhaps you could use a J name for a MN and cal her AJ?

I don't hate AJ but I should've mentioned, her middle name is definitely going to be Maria! That's one thing we're certain of

I personally don't care for Eleanor (or any of the nn's that come with it).  My vote definitely goes to Adelaide!
