Today I wish DC was close to work

Most of the state is under a tropical storm warning and tornado warning. I was pretty stressed out since the daycare is close to home, which on normal commute days is about 30-35 minutes away. Today, it took me 70 minutes to get to work. And the thought of being 70+ minutes away from my kids in bad weather is stressing me out.

Thankfully, DH just called and told me he decided to work from home today. SOOOO very glad he's not going to be on the road and close to the kids god forbid something happens.

It's days like today I wish I was closer to the kids daycare.

Being from Moore, OK I can absolutely feel your pain!  DH is a meteorologist so he was watching our storm situation on both occasions (May 20th and May 31st). My boss is completely awesome and let me go early to get DD from daycare because it is near home, but further from work.  Traffic gets ridiculous in any type of severe weather event so the fact I left much earlier than when employees were being released saved me from getting caught in the parking lot of traffic that was the highway.  We were in our shelter by the time anything hit.  So glad your DH is working from home and able to pop over and get them!  Hope everything is okay in your area today!  Stay safe!

Luckily (?) our daycare is closed this week for a summer holiday, so LO is home right now, and we also have the tropical storm on the way. They're projecting the heavy rain to start right around my drive home, so hopefully it won't be too much of a disaster! I'm also hoping we'll at least get a late start in the morning, because it's still supposed to be bad then.
