Hey ladies. Em has started biting herself lately, mostly out of frustration when she is corrected or if I or a friend takes something away from her. She bites hard enough to leave marks. Anyone else experience this? Any suggestions?
TIA!
Oliver would head butt and slam himself into the ground when he did not get his way. I think the reason why they do it is because they get a reaction. Somehow they know it bothers you that they are hurting themselves. My gut tells me to ignore the behavior, or at least not make it a big deal. Just say "oh no, biting hurts."
Mine does this too out of frustration. We tell him ouch, no, biting isn't good. I'm assuming he will grow out of it when he's better at expressing himself.
Mine does this too. I figure better himself than others (seriously, he is/was a 'biter' for awhile....). I ignore the behavior, I've read that not giving stuff like that any kind of attention, good or bad, is best.
