Mobile: Open adoption participants - answer a survey?
A birth mom from my agency is working on a book about open adoption. She is looking for people actively in open adoptions - as birth parents, adoptees or APs - who are willing to answer some questions. If you are willing to, her contact info is below. Here's a little "blurb" she gave me when I asked her for more info about her project:
"In short, I'm hoping to demystify open adoption. I'm surveying adoptive parents, birth parents, and adoptees (if they're old enough to answer questions without the help of mom and/or dad) to allow people to see the many forms an open adoption relationship can take. Of course, though I will leave information provided to me exactly as provided, I will share some of my opinions and personal story in between as well, providing a birth mother's perspective on open adoption. There are so many books out there written by clinicians and adoptive parents about adoption and open adoption in specific, but the books are rare from my perspective as a birth mom. I'm planning to build on my blog (www.musingmonika.com), and to hopefully appeal not only to adoptive parents, hopeful adoptive parents, and birth parents, but those affected by the relationship and to a broad range of social workers in adoption as well. There are a lot of agencies out there that "get" open adoption, but there are many more that still don't understand the true benefits of it and the fact that it's a relationship and not just how you maintain that relationship (pictures, updates, visits, etc)."
