Hi Ladies. I have been off and on this board for the past couple years along our Ttc journey. I have had 7 unsuccessful iuis and have been reluctant to change donors because my partner had our daughter and we wanted the donor to be the same. At this point I think it's time to look elsewhere.
We have a friend who has his own family a gay couple with an adopted daughter and son by surrogacy who is willing to donate for us. The plan as of now is to do a monitored clomid cycle with at home insemination. I am wondering if anyone has done this successfully? Does the clomid side effect that could decrease cervical mucus mess with this process?
Appreciate your feedback and experiences.
Iui #1 = unmedicated = bfn. Iui # 2 = clomid 50 mg = bfn. Iui # 3 = clomid 50 mg = bfn. Iui # 4 = unmedicated = bfn. Iui # 5 = unmedicated = bfp - miscarriage at 5 wks.
Iui #6 = nov 2012 = gonal f 75, endotrim 100= chemical pregnancy/bfn
Re: Known Donor Experiences
Hi - We used a KD for our pregnancy with K (now 10 months old) and hope to use the same KD for baby #2. It was an un-medicated round so I don't have any insight into the effects of Clomid. But home insemination was "easy" and effective. We did an at home ICI with catheter, syringe, instead cups, and egg whites (the later which may assist the CM question). I'd be happy to provide you with all the details - feel free to PM me.
One thing that helped is that we started early in my cycle (as soon as I received a "darker" wondfo opk, which was CD 9 I believe - I O'd on CD 12. (I received a Clear Blue positive OPK on CD 10). We did an ICI each day for 4 days in a row, starting on CD9.
Good luck!!!
