How long are you waiting??

For any of you women who had a c-section and plan on having another baby how long are you waiting??  My doc suggested waiting at least 6 months to a year before getting pregnant again.  Or for anyone who has gotten pregnant after a c-section how soon did you get pregnant again?

My OB recommended at least a year in between pregnancies. We're O&D, so no worries here.

Between my first 2 there was 3 years, between 2 3 I got pregnant when 2 was 10 months. Between 3 4 7 years and now 4 just turned one and we plan to try again at the end of summer.

Due to my age (I was 39y3m when DD was born), both my OB and RE said to get started on #2 ASAP, so I got started pretty quickly, and was pregnant again about 4.5 months after giving birth.

We were told to wait 6 months. At 4m she said I'd be fine if I got pregnant sooner than 6 months. We were expecting it to take 6 months like it did with Aidan. I got pregnant on the first cycle. So I was 4 months pp when I got pregnant with Lucas. Then we waited a year and a half between Lucas and this one.

Thanks ladies.  I was just curious what other people were doing.  I said I wanted to wait a year but lately I have been thinking maybe trying around 6 months.  I know my boyfriend wants another baby right away.  Just want to make sure I give myself time to heal properly.

If I get pg again, I'll wait at least 12-18 months.

I waited 3.5 years.  But that was because it took us a while to decide we were ready for #2 and I always knew I would rather have a few years between kids, not because anyone suggested I wait that long.

My 2nd was an emergency c-section and I was pregnant again when she as one so they are about 20 months apart.

We started trying a year after, and got pregnant the second cycle trying.

I think it depends on your situation. My dr. didn't say much about it and we didn't wait at all but I had a very easy recovery. I got pregnant when my son was 10 months.

We are waiting about 18 months. OB said a year is optimal especially if I want to try for a VBAC. I also want to wait for work. I know a lot of women who work in the corporate environment have issues trying to keep climbing the ladder and manage motherhood. If I want to keep being promoted and being assigned on the good projects I need to be focused at work for at least that long.

I was told to wait a year, minimum, unless I wanted to risk placenta previa or other bad side effects. 

We waited 2.5 before trying for #2.

we plan to wait till K is 2 before even trying to get pregnant with another. But that's how far apart we would want them, not because of the cs.

We are going to TTC in another 2 years (if we get KU right away, we'll have roughly 4.5 years between deliveries).  This is just our personal choice, though, we need a good break before tackling the infant stage again.

Although, physically, I felt like my body was ready for another pregnancy starting a few months ago (about 18 months after my c/s).

I was told to try and wait 2 years. Unexpectedly got pregnant when D.S was 9 months old. So far no problems at 21 weeks.

Our main goals in child spacing was to be able to nurse the current baby for a while (16-17mo) and also have time to replenish nutrition stores in my body following pregnancy and nursing. So, between our first two kids was 2 years (I weaned when newly pregnant with my second) and between our second and third which is coming this fall, there will be 2.5 years (between births). I felt the time between each was just right for each of those pregnancies.  I also wanted 18mo between births for VBAC, but personally wanted more time in family life and personally and not have the births that close. HTH.

My OB recommends 12 months between deliveries. i had 11 months between deliveries for the first 2. My uterus was very thin, but I have large babies and had polyhydramnios the second time, so rcs was actually the safest. After my thin uterus she said to wait approx 18 months between deliveries.

My on recommended 12 months and we got pregnant when dd was 17 months. We are not sure if we will have a 3rd but if we do we will probably wait a year to tycoon again. My maternity leave at work had to be at least a year from when I return to work.

We got pregnant when my LO was 3 months old and it was a complete accident and I had a TON of complications my little girls are less than a year apart now because my newest baby came 9 weeks early
