RnP to bassinet

Tried to transition LO from rnp to bassinet last night. Woke himself up at1am tossing and turning. How can I get him over to the flat surface from being cradled in the rnp?

Re: RnP to bassinet

  • We just did the RNP to crib transition. We put a pillow under one end of the crib mattress to lift it up. It's gone great so far. We need to remove the pillow as by morning she's either sideways or upside down. Maybe if you put a folded receiving blanket under one end of the bassinet mattress.

  • We transitioned a lot sooner... around 8 or 9 weeks when I went back to work. First we put the RnP in her room so she would get used to it. We did that for at least a few weeks. I tried maybe 3 x to put her in her crib with no luck. Then one night I just decided to go for it and not stress. She STTN in her crib and has been pretty good ever since. You could try using a heating pad on the crib/bassinet and warming it up. My LO always sleeps great when I do this (I don't do it anymore except some nights where she is fussy). You can also put a boppy up around her legs. That will help him feel more secure. Also, with the crib we found that she likes to scoot around and would throw a fit when swaddled (before she could only sleep if swaddled tightly).

I love the RnP. Now it's where DD takes naps and watches TV in the AM with Daddy. We've also brought it on trips with us to use instead of the PnP. I'm so sad she is growing out of it.
