Co sleeping question.

My LO is 4 weeks old and has slept on my chest since day 1. She sleeps on her side, but I am wondering when you started putting your LO on their backs beside you instead. She sleeps best on me, she doesn't really like not being skin to skin but I also don't want it to be the only way she will sleep cause ecentully she will be too heavy for me. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Re: Co sleeping question.

  • Will she sleep in your arms on your lap? It might be a good transition because she's on her back then, but still snuggled by you. Once she's solidly asleep you could move her to the bed.

  • DS has always been a side sleeper. I kept an eye on him but decided to just let him sleep comfortably.

Sometimes sleeping on their backs stretches their spines uncomfortably and stresses babies a bit. They spent most of their lives curled up, so it can be uncomfortable to sleep stretched out. It's up to you, of course, but I say let them sleep comfortably unless they are in danger, and keep a close watch. :D

  • I started putting my LO on her back on the boppy in bed with me. She wouldn't sleep alone so I would put a blanket snug across the boppy and then lay on that so she wouldn't be able to roll over and she was higher than me so I wouldn't roll over on her or anything. It worked out perfectly until she started moving more!
