Far Reaching Sound Monitors

Does anyone have a reco for a sound monitor that is fairly inexpensive and has a really good range? We have a video monitor that won't even reach to our garage, so if my husband is working out in the garage he can't bring it with him... I refuse to spend money on ANOTHER video monitor when we already have one, so am looking to get a cheap sound only one for the few times I want to have a cup of coffee on my neighbors front porch or my husband needs to be in the garage...

    I don't know how far you need it to be, but we have been pleased with our VTech audio monitor

    We have one unit in the first floor, but I still get excellent reception when I'm in the basement or outside in the yard.

    We have a graco that has great range. It is green and about $50 at target, I think the range is 2000 ft.

    Sony baby call. I would check on the range but its fantastic.
