Mobile: Talk to me about your labor experience..
So.. how did you know you were in labor? My scheduled c/s isn't until 3 days before my 40wk mark.. and, my OB keeps telling me she thinks I'll end up delivering before that.. and, she keeps stressing about how important it is to get to the hospital right away because they don't want my ute contracting too much...
With DS, I was induced.. they broke my water.. etc. I never really went into labor on my own.. so, I'm curious.. how did you know you were in labor? With DS I had braxton hicks allllllll the time.. when I went in for the induction, I was already 3cm dilated, 70% effaced and having consistent contractions (which I thought were just BH).. this time, I don't have the BH nearly as often, but the ones I do have feel a LOT more like contractions then just tightening.. I'm so worried I won't know when it's "go time", or that I'll wait too long before making the decision! We're about an hour from the hospital.. and with DS, I went from 3cm-8cm in just a few hours (albeit, with pitocin).. so, talk to me about your experience.. how did you know it was the real deal?
Also, as a side note -- any Moms of 2+ have a breech and non breech baby...
DS was head down the entire time.. I had some discomfort here and there, but mostly it was just back aches and such. This time, I am in SO much more discomfort and I'm trying to figure out what gives.. the only main difference is that DS#2 is breech.. but, would that make me *this* much more uncomfortable?
I feel like either someone took a baseball to my lower abdomen and crotch, or I did 5 million situps and my muscles just hurt SO incredibly bad. It's a combination of sore muscles and feeling like I'm bruised all over from my lower abdomen down.. not sure if this is from his positioning, or maybe from them being so close? I'll talk to the doctor at my next appointment, but mannnnnn.. it's uncomfortable to move at all!

Had my 39w appointment and wasn't dilated or effaced at all. That night at 1am, I woke up to a series of sharp, vertical pains in my abdomen. Thought it was weird, but was clearly tired enough to not clue in. At 3am, I woke up with timeable contractions. Mine were almost all back labor, so I felt them in my hip bones. I couldn't sleep, so I got up. By 3pm, they were 5-1-1 consistently, so we headed off to the hospital. I wasn't dilated AT ALL. They almost sent me home, until around 5pm my water broke. The second (of three total that I felt) abdominal contraction is what broke it. All of my abdominal contractions were vertical and didn't really hurt. That was weird. I had my son nearly 12 hours later at 39w, 2d.
My sister felt like you in her first pregnancy. She hated car rides as they hurt so much. She had her son at just over 36w. Her water just broke all of the sudden and then she started feeling labor. She had him 12 hours later, but they also tried to stop labor at first. Her second pregnancy was completely opposite of this. It's so weird how each pregnancy is so different.
