So apparently I'm knocked up. Now, don't get me wrong - I'm thrilled. But I'm just shocked. I'm an EXTREME planner. With DS1 and DS2 everything was exactly planned - I wanted to have end of summer babies three years apart and so they were
And I was planning/hoping to try for #3 in about 5 months so that he/she is also end of summer baby three years younger than DS2 (end of the summer works really well with my teaching schedule). But I guess that plan has been fast-forward (and how?? I mean not literally "how". I get the mechanics. But there were no accidents as far as I recall... Oh well I guess new tricks happen to old dogs).
I'm just sitting here in a bit of a shock. My first appointment is in three weeks at which point I'll be 8 or 9 or 10 weeks. I'm still nursing DS2 so my cycles are not regulated. I'm just thankful I've kept up with the prenatals and didn't partake in too much alcohol during Memorial day... Sooooo my eggo is really preggo? (random: i love Juno).
Re: Hello POAS surprise...
I hate that life can't just be planned out all the time but then I remember how wonderful some surprises are. Congrats.
Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12
Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck. Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
This Cluttered Life
Thanks ladies!
Seeing moms of three (and four and five
on this board helps to remind me that I'm not totally insane.
Will baby #3 be another girl?

Congratulations!
I think you're in good company here
Stella - ok I give myself a week to stop freaking out.
Yep, this is one doodle that can't be undid homeskillet
You want to be careful with those eyerolls theresat858. Your face might get stuck that way.
I apologize if I wasn't crystal clear. A reference to lack of accidents in my book implies perceived successful birth control. An accident is condom breaking, condom slipping, meddling MIL poking holes in the condom stash, you know - the usual stuff. Getting pregnant while not relying on any birth control would not be deemed an accident - it's a natural consequence. So yeah, I didn't notice any *accidents* in our preferred birth control method.
And while planning does not always work out perfectly one can certainly try to maximize the chances. For DS1 and DS2 it was important for me to try to get pregnant at a certain time (due to teaching schedule as mentioned above) so I relied on those ovulation kits where you pee on a stick every day and it tells you when to TTC with maximum probability of success. I certainly was very lucky that I was able to easily conceive but the timing was certainly planned to a very large degree. Which is what I was planning to do with #3. Which is why this is an unexpected, while certainly not unwelcome, surprise.
Thanks to everyone else on their sincere wishes!
p.s. hm.. I do sound a bit snarky above. Can I blame the hormones already or is this just my usual charm? I wonder.
