My DD will be 5mos on Thursday. She's really strong, can push herself up on her arms, and roll back to front and front to back.
About a week ago, we moved her from her rock n play to her pack n play. With much success, I might add! She was jsut too big for the rnp and clearly wasn't comfortable anymore. I'm glad she likes her pnp and so far she's only waking once at night to eat.
BUT, she faceplants in her mattress the minute I put her down. I always start her on her back. I can turn away for three seconds, and she's on the other side of the pnp on her belly, face in her mattress. I'm always moving her (and making her angry and waking her up, I know, I shouldn't) but I'm totally freaked out she's going to stop breathing and be too sleepy to wake up!! A good friend of ours is a pediatrician, and he says since she can roll both ways and she's almost sitting without help, she'll be fine. And, she keeps waking up happy and healthy every morning. Am I just being a silly FTM that I keep worrying about her suffocating during the night?
Re: DD is going to give me a heart attack
Yes. You are.
But, it's okay. We've all been there. I was just like that with DD1. With DD2, I am happy however she is sleeping, now that she is a rolling scooting monster.
Just breathe, and know that your LO will definitely be ok.
Haha it seems like there are a lot of rolling babies out there now.
I am having the same problem, but DD hates being on her tummy. She rolls and then screams with her face in the mattress. I flip her over and she does it again. This has been going on for the longest time now!
I'm where you are. I moved DS from his cosleeper to his PnP with great success and he has been rolling over to his stomach for the past week. He would always roll unto his side, but never finish it until now. I'm finding him in all sorts of odd contortions, lol!
I know he's fine because he can sit up and has great head control but, just like you, I worry. I'm still waking up a couple times a night because DS FINALLY started STTN but I am apparently no longer capable of STTN myself, lol. When I wake I look in on him (the PnP is right next to my bed) and put a hand on his chest/back before going back to sleep.
