Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Was this snarky?

I posted a comment on my FB about how my lo went to bed really early tonight and that teething has been a bear. I wished I could take her pain away.

I got a comment that says its not for the faint at heart.

Now this is coming from a lady who does tend to post negative comments often and made a dig towards a room full of sahm's. She works so I think there is some jealously there.

For some reason that comment just seemed well, odd to me. I don't know why. How would you reply if at all? Think it was just her saying in general? Her son apparently didn't have issues sleeping while teething so I'm not sure how to take where she may be coming from.

  • I don't get why that would be snarky. I take it as she is acknowledging how hard it is to deal with a teething toddler.

I don't think that is offensive or something to waste even 5 seconds of your time thinking about. There must be a longer backstory with her because I have no idea where you'd get the whole working mom jealousy theory from but I'd be the bigger person and not respond.

thanks for all the other responses BTW. I didn't explain the story on her comment she made last week about her having to go back to work. She just talked with my hubby on FB today and said she wishes she could so I know her comment just probably came from jealousy.

Thats all no biggy. I can read into thing sometimes and wanted to get input.

I don't think it sounds snarky and wouldn't worry about replying.

I also don't really see what being a working mom has to do with it. It may be an assumption you made because you felt the comment was snarky.

    I wouldn't worry.

  • I imagine as you said there is more to itso as outsiders it sounds like nothing but I can see how you could take it differently. Like if she didn't have any trouble with teething then maybe you took the comment as being sarcastic since that seems to be her way. But ultimately no matter what she meant by it I don't think its worth your time to worry about or respond to

This. It sounds to me like she was agreeing with you.

  • The mood I'm in, I'd have taken it as snarky.  I also know that I'm in a mood, so I wouldn't respond, but I get where you're coming from with not being able to tell.
