DS is almost 10 months old, and up until about 1.5 weeks ago, he was a great napper. He would take two 1-2 hour naps and then a quick little 30-45 minute snooze in the late afternoon/early evening. Now, he falls asleep during his mid-morning bottle and his mid-afternoon bottle, but as soon as I go to lay him down he wakes up crying and then won't go back to sleep. Sometimes I put him down immediately after he finishes his bottle, and other times I will try to wait 10-15 minutes to make sure he's really asleep. But no matter what, he always wakes up. The only time he naps without me holding him is if we're in the car. I'm not able to get anything done around the house, and DS doesn't get any decent amount of sleep during the day. He is a pretty good night-time sleeper, usually only wakes up once. But now he's starting to cry when I put him back down at night too. I've started letting him CIO at night, and he maybe cries for 10 minutes. Should I do this with naps too?
Re: Nap time frustrations...
I would let him cry for naps too if you're doing it at night. He's at the prime age for separation anxiety and probably just wants to be with you.
We sleep trained my LO so he goes to bed no problem but for naps, he would often sit up and fuss or cry when I laid him down, even if he was just asleep in my arms a minute before. I started just laying him down and patting him and leaving the room. If he fusses or cries, I just let him do that. He never cries for more than 5 minutes and he always goes to sleep.
