My brother in law graduated HS today and DH's cousin who has a daughter a month older than ours just had her second baby. I was holding the baby [3 weeks. So tiny!] and first got "doesn't that make you want another?" Then "are you next?" [No! There is another cousin pregnant and due in 3 weeks, sillies!] And maaaaaany times "Ella wants a baby. She loves K so much." Finally I told them when they get me a bigger house and a night nurse, we will talk about another baby. Besides, my brother is about to become a daddy, E will get plenty of new baby time.

 LOL yes this. I've said this! One of my friends had one recently and I was holding her.. someone I don't know well said "doesn't it make you want one?" (in general) and I said "nah. It makes me feel so lucky I will sleep tonight from 10-6am" .. I like holding someone else's newborn baby, but that's my line.

I do like snuggling newborn babies, and will admit I miss the cuddly newborn phase... But I also know that I do not function well with broken sleep. When E was a baby I was very much a "sleep when baby sleeps" kind of Mom... But you cannot do that while also caring for a toddler. And I have explained that and heard "well... Maybe when she starts school..." in response. Except the plan was to take 5 years off working, not 10. And really, if they are 56 years apart, it is going to be a long time, if ever, before they have enough in common to be friends. I am 30 and my brother is 24 and we are just finally getting there.
