Hello,

I just found out today that I am pregnant, after trying for about a year! I'm super excited, but am not sure where to start with my doctor search. I am in the Irwin area, but would like to deliver at Magee. Any recommendations or advice ??? Thank you!

Congratulations!  

What I discovered when searching for an OB during my first pregnancy is that most OBGYN practices only deliver at Magee if you are a high risk pregnancy. But there are practices/OBs that work at Magee, and thus deliver there. I don't know how to go about making an appointment or finding a doctor there, but here is their OBGYN webpage and it has a number at the bottom you can call: https://www.upmc.com/locations/hospitals/Magee/OBGYN/Pages/default.aspx

I have friends who have delivered there (both high risk and not) who have had positive experiences, and I also know someone who has used the Midwives at Magee for three pregnancies and really likes them.

Where do you live? My OBGYNS are amazing and I deliver at Magee.

I live in Irwin area also and delivered at Forbes. Had a GREAT experience there. I actually switched Ob/Gyn once pregnant to a practice that delivered at Forbes vs Magee. I know many like this practice:

I only saw the Nurse practioner when I went for my yearly.

Congrats! I use east suburban in monroeville and will deliver at forbes.. 38 weeks now and have had good experiences with them through out the pregnancy
