I didn't know that clinics even did GIFT anymore, since it is more invasive and had lower success rates. Admittedly, I don't have personal experience, but I'm curious what reasons your doctor has given you for exploring GIFT as a possibility rather than traditional IVF?
Married 8/2008.
IVF with PGD March 2013.
3/22 ER: 25R, 20M, 15F. 9 genetically normal, and 3 survived to Day 5
3/27 ET: transferred 1 embryo, beta 9dp5dt=163, 12dp5dt=639
4/25 1st ultrasound at 7 weeks = identical twins with heartbeats?!!!
PPROM at 31w, delivery at 32 weeks of two beautiful girls
Just as a heads up, I work in a Catholic School and my immediate boss told me not to tell anyone about the IVF because they fire people for that because it is against their beliefs. I don't know if you have that Catholic Lifestyle clause in your contract too but I just wanted to warn you. I read that there was a teacher in Texas who was fired for having IVF. It is ridiculous that our employer can choose our medical treatment. How is that even legal? I do not know anything about GIFT though, I am sorry. The dr. never even mentioned it to us. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
