I've read a few feeds on birthing centers in the area but most of them are 2-3 years old. I'm currently seeing an OB and I want a birth center experience. I've ruled out Birth & Womens Center in Dallas. ABC looks pretty good but I don't think they will accept my insurance. Lover's Lane looks like a possible option too. I live in Plano so I'm only willing to drive 30 mins.
Anyone used Bella Births or Family Centered Maternity Care? I can't seem to find much on them.
Re: DFW Birth Centers
I went through Lovers Lane. I really liked the midwives there, but the one I delivered with is no longer there :-(
Dinah & Kristine are great (Kristine wasn't working as a midwife there yet, but was the birthing assistant during my delivery). They're both very competent at what they do. They are a bit 'granola' (so I was kinda diappointed when Adelle left. She had a bit more of the medical background, which being my first, I appreciated.)
Call & schedule a tour, I think they're usually on Fridays. You get to meet with Dinah & see the center. No pressure or commitment, but you have your opportunity to get questions answered & get a feel for them.
Hope this helps & that you find someone & somewhere you're comfortable with
I am using Gentle Beginnings again, but Hurst is too far for you. I LOVE them.
ABC is good. Lovers Lane, you will want to contact soon. They are completely booked with births through October.
My friend used Bella Births and was highly satisfied!
