NBR: Whirlpool Duet HE washer

Anyone have his front loading washer? Opinions? I'm also considering Maytag and Kenmore, though they are all essentially the same company. I'd like to buy used if possible. TIA!

We have the washer/dryer set and I LOVE it.  Our house came with a 25+ year old washer/dryer set and we finally replaced it a few months ago.  Our water bill has gone down by half.  One gripe - the buttons on our model are completely touch-sensitive and sometimes my giant pregnant belly changes the settings while I'm loading laundry.  Otherwise, it's fantastic.  I use the "quick wash" setting for pretty much everything (about 30 min), and laundry is no longer an all-day chore (with our old washer, I'd have to run an extra spin cycle after every load to get all the water out).

Get the Kenmore. If you get one new enough that still has the warranty, it's transferrable and you can still purchase the extended warranty. I do love my LGs, but the Kenmores we had before lasted 12 years and we do a lot of laundry.

I have a pair that is 7 years old. They frequently smell like mold. If I were buying a new set, I'd consider a top loading HE set instead. I've heard those are better for controlling mold.

This. Also, if you buy used beware that moving them can make the drums become off balance. We did everything that was recommended by customer service prior to moving our duets across the country with professional movers. Ours are now horribly off balance and the washer shakes our WHOLE house on spin. I really want to replace them with something different.
