What's your favorite name that you can't use?

What's your favorite name that you can't use? Whether it is because DH hates it, someone close to you has already used it, or it doesn't go with you last name.

Mine would be Miller for a girl. I love this name but DH will not go for it at all. I can see why and agree that its not for everyone, but I still love it.

For a boy I like Coleman but DH also shot that one down. Its OK because I have another favorite I'm really hoping for.

Clark - Our last name is Kent.

Kennedy - an acquaintance used it and we see them enough where it would be odd.

Daisy - My H's aunt's name.

Ivy - My H's Great Grandma.

Hollis - My H has strongly vetoed it.

:::Waves::: hey Cara! My fav name I can't use is Andrew because my nephew on DH's side's oldest is named that. I was my favorite boys name before DH and I met, but once I met his family that was my first thought - well, I can't have a grandma have two grandkids named Andrew.

Call me crazy but I love the name Olive for a girl. Except our last name rhymes with it! It's like J-olive. Olive Jolive. I couldn't do that to my girl. That's a slight form of child abuse Stick out tongue

We decided a long time ago on LENA (pronounced Lee-Nuh) but my sister named her baby LEAH (Lee-Uh).... so I think Lena is out.

I also love Camille but my husband hates it.

Anything with an E for a girl. Our last name starts with Z, so DH was really against a girl having the initials EZ. I love the names Eleanor, Evangeline, Evelyn, and Elena.

Annalise and Persephone (nn Perci), because those are the names of two of our good friends.

Liesl - way too close to our son's name.

Leonard nn Lenny - this was our top name for our son but his birthmom (open adoption) has a cat names Leonard and thought it would just be too weird.

Ophelia is also Hamlet's girlfriend who killed herself by drowning. Definitely not a positive connotation, but the name is lovely!

My favorite boy name is Jude. I Love it but DH vetoed it back on Boy #1. I'll be so sad if I end up with three boys, none named Jude!

The name I love for a little girl is Hadley, but DH is not a fan. If next LO is a girl I will try to persuade him!

One of my best friends named her daughter Miller!

I can't use Ruby because my BIL used it for his dog. It was in serious consideration for DD before they did that.
For a boy I can't use Zane because I have an ex named Shane.

William for a FN because it's awful with our last name. We might as well beat the kid up ourselves and save the bullies the effort!
We may use it as a middle if we have a boy though because it's really meaningful. Willa/willow for a girl is the same.
Jude, Layla, Lucy and Lily are all just awkward with our LN.
Murphy was vetoed.

Sasha. I love that name so much, I named my dog that in college. Unfortunately, it was a joint dog with a boyfriend and he took her when we broke up several months later. So she was only my dog for a very short time. Doesn't matter though. I can't name my kid after my dog unless her middle name is after HIS dog - Hogan.
