English language brain fart

I confess, I've been abroad so long that I sometimes forget how we say things back home. L has started saying what sounds like "Hannah no" when she wants to be picked up. I don't know what she thinks she's saying but I do know that's what she means. In Japanese it's "dakko" which is short and easy, but I want to teach her what to say in English. "Pick me up" is kind of long and I feel weird saying "Pick me up? Pick me up?" at her. Any other suggestions? What do your toddlers say?

She says "old your Aba", which translates to hold your Ava. It's pretty cute and hard to resist.

I just noticed on my phone the subject line reads "English language bra."

Lo says "uppy" or "hold oooo" as in hold you. E used to say "hold you" I always thought it was so cute like its not just that they want to be picked up but they want to hug me. I'm sure that's just my sappy mom heart though.

We get "up me,"  but up or hold me might be good substitutes for you.
