I read the Mommy Myth some time ago and remember enjoying it.
Any recs on other books that address the working mother? (would prefer not to read books that advocate solely for SAH a la Sears with phrases like "if a mother simply must work outside the home and chooses to sacrifice the well being of her child" .... I simply cannot stomach those.)
Re: Working Mom Books
I've read a lot of anthologies. Not as many statistics but easier to read in short chunks.
Torn: True Stories of Kids, Career & the Conflict of Modern Motherhood
Mommy Wars: Stay-At-Home and Career Moms Face Off on Their Choices, Their Lives, Their Families
The two best stand-alones were The Feminine Mistake: Are We Giving Up Too Much? and Opting Out?: Why Women Really Quit Careers and Head Home.
I couldn't finish The Mommy Myth though. Once they started with the "all conservatives are crap parents who can't actually love their kids" I tuned out. Too over the top.
