So I have two unrelated questions:
1. For those who have transitioned to WCM how do meals go for you? Right now DS gets a 7 oz bottle and then some solids. The Pedi said his oz consumption would go down once he switches to WCM, I also plan on weening from the bottle after we make the transition, but was wondering how to give the milk. is it in a big serving and then give solids or do you just provide it at meal time with the solids.
2. What are you doing ot care for LOs teeth? Right now we don't do much, but once we switch to WCM I feel like I should be doing more. should i get a tooth bush and just use water/ What do you do?
TIA!
Re: Two unrelated questions--Milk and teeth
I do a bottle of milk in the am w/ breakfast around 11, sometimes if he's fussy around 4 and then a night bottle. Around 6-8 oz each time.
They have tooth brushes and tooth past starting at 3 or 6 months, it doesn't have fluoride.
2. We brush teeth with water or baby toothpaste. The baby toothpaste tastes good, so my kiddos now willingly open their mouths. I also floss their teeth with the little kid flossers.
We started brushing with a finger brush and orajel tooth"paste" since he got his first tooth and bad breath. Now we have the toddler training brush and the same toothpaste for him. I usually brush his teeth, gums, and mouth to a song I made up and then let him brush himself for a little while after.
DD refuses milk, but I offer it with meals. Sometimes she will take a few sips but that's all.
We started using a toothbrush when her first teeth came in. We have the toddler toothpaste but usually just use water. She fights it a little because of teething, but if I fill up a cup with water and let her dip the toothbrush she lets me brush her teeth.

1. This is generally what I do with his cups everyday:
-4oz cup of milk when he wakes (eats breakfast 1.5-2hr later)
-4-5 oz cup before nap with snack
-6-7oz cup right before bed
I usually serve water with each meal and throughout the day.
2. We bought a kiddie toothbrush and toothpaste (the kind that is safe to swallow). I brush his teeth after breakfast and then at bedtime.
1. DD gets 5 oz WCM in a bottle first thing in the morning (she refuses to drink milk out of a sippy cup so we're struggling with that transition) and then breakfast about an hour later. She then gets an 8 oz bottle of milk before bed. So, two bottles of WCM milk a day. During meals and throughout the day she will drink water, or occasionally orange juice, in a sippy cup. Once we get her completely transitioned to a sippy cup, we will probably attempt to get her to drink it with meals and snack times. She likely won't drink nearly as much WCM in a sippy cup as she would with a bottle, so I'll offer it more frequently. HTH.
2. We've been brushing her teeth since she got them at 9 months. Started out with one of those finger toothbrushes and water. Now, we use baby toothpaste with a toddler sized toothbrush. She hates it, but we do it anyway.
We do an 8oz cup of milk before breakfast, and an 8oz cup of milk before bed. He usually drinks most of it. We sometimes offer it at meal times as well. I give the milk when I do because i was concerned about him getting enough and he seems to neglect beverages at meal time.
They make toothpaste for babies/toddlers so that is what we use with a little tooth brush.
My son gets milk "on demand." He usually asks for it first thing in the morning, and then with meals. He also gets water on demand, so it really depends on what he's asking for. He's been using a straw-cup exclusively since 11 months.
He brushes his teeth with a toothbrush and water. Usually when DH and I are brushing our teeth. He doesn't like to be left out.
