Supportive sandals

Anyone have recommendations for supportive and comfortable sandals? My feet are swelling so I prefer open toe sandals vs shoes and luckily my work is pretty casual so can wear sandals to work. My cheapo old Navy flip flops aren't cutting it for support. Thanks!

Re: Supportive sandals

  • Chaco is my fav brand. I used to direct summer camps, and then worked at REI, so I've tried pretty much all of the brands out there. I wear them bc they have arch support and a Vibram sole, same as many hiking boots. I have been living in their flip flops, which are expensive, but worth it. Their regular "Z" strap sandals are also great, and are a bit more supportive than the flip flops, but also more expensive. That's my personal recommendation, good luck!

  • I just bought a 15 dollar pair of sandals from Walmart that are memory foam. Honestly the most comfortable thing I have ever had on my feet and I HATE sandals. Before I got pregnant I wore socks all the time. Unless I was in water. Yes to bed, and everything. Now I hate socks and these sandals have saved my sanity!

  • I found these at DSW and love them! Super comfortable and room for my swollen feet. My feet and ankles are swelling pretty bad and these can usually handle it. The link doesn't show the same color options that I found in store. But these are cute too.

  • I bought very supportive flip flops by Spenco, on amazon for about 35. They are great!

But I have swelled up so much during our heat wave that I needed something wider. My husband patiently opened every shoe box in different styles, sizes and widths at Famous Footwear and Kohls before I frustratedly gave up and went over to the mens dept. Yup mens wide black slip ons! Officially rocking Mandels...

I bought some Nike flip flops from Dicks a few weeks ago. They're very comfy. I was at the point of only being able to walk maybe a mile a day. Now Im back to being on my feet all day, no problem.

This. I love my chacos. Also, sole makes a great flip flop with sufficient support. I worked at an outdoor shop similar to rei for years.
