so my boyfriend and I do not yet know the gender of our nugget however we are making our list of boy and girl names. He is really set on the idea of Chet for a boy. It is his middle name and his deceased grandpas name. I giggled when he first brought it up and told him it reminded me of the mental raindeer from The santa Claus movie. I personally very much dislike this name but feel I should at least get input from others...Maybe its just me??? Thanks

I like it as the idea of a nick name, but it feels like it's short for something?? Any names that include that so it could be the NM??

Was his grandpa's name actually Chet or was that short for Chester?

I like the idea of continuing the name but would use it as a middle name since you're not a huge fan of it.

I think it's a nice compromise to use it as a MN. I have no idea who the reindeer is from the movie, so that wouldn't even be on the radar.

His grandpas name was Chester. Thanks for the input ladies. I personally like Spencer, Charlie, Oliver, Dex and Bennie. I feel they are all a bit nerdy but I love them for some reason.

I was trying to avoid it all together but if he really strongly wants it I will suggest it as a middle. Or maybe this baby will be a girl then I will have no worries!!

I think your instincts were right. I think of the reindeer too and really old men. How about Charles and a nickname of Chet. I have an uncle Charles and everyone calls him whatever version they like, he answers to them all. I know Chet is technically short for Chester but I think it could work.

Wasn't Chet the name of the mean older brother in the movie "Weird Science"?
It was more my much older sister's generation of a movie but I think I've seen it a time or two. Could be wrong though. Just makes me think of that nasty blob the brother turns into though.
