Ive spent more money than I care to say on my LO's first birthday. I will remember it and the pictures will be dang cute.
OMG- true story- Im at work and I was also going to confess that I flirted shamelessly with Lo's pedi at his appt yesterday just for that same doc to walk over to my desk to ask me a question. ABORT! ABORT!
I am annoyed by people who are food snobs and say they are picky about "what they put into their body", but every weekend they chain smoke and drink heavily. I know a lot of those and I don't get it.
I am also greatly frustrated when people confuse star trek and star wars.
This was inspired by reading the babyproofing post...
I let DD play with our TV remote and don't really feel bad about it.
also, I should totally be getting the dishes done while DD naps but I am bumping instead. My mom and stepdad arrive tonight and I really need to be on top of things...oh well.

maybe I need to go read the thread but he has his own designated remote...
I hate tickers that count down to a child's birthday. You know the ones that say 5 months, 2 weeks and 3 days until LO's 2nd birthday. It's too much work to figure out exactly how old they are.

I am tired of people that did not successfully BF giving me advice of BFing. They seem to have a LOT of opinions - my mom included.
Why can't I BF for comfort instead of giving a pacifier? I don't get why people get so upset... I still BF on demand and will do until DD self weans.
DS never really took to a pacifier and still comforts nurses too. I got home late lastnight and he cried until I got home and then pretty much nursed the whole night.

Ugh this is my MIL. She think's that b/c she's a nurse her opinion means more in the health field. Among other things I do not always enjoy her company.
I'm posting this as I sit in the drive thru at McDonalds; both my girls are having chicken nugget Happy Meals for lunch. [I'm a teacher, so since it's summer break, I'm now a stay at home mom until August.] I don't feel guilty about it either.
Of course as I said in the cell phone post, both girls have apps on our phones just for them. DD1 has a LeapPad as well. I do try to limit playing with the remote, but only because the back fell off and DD2 has figured out how to shake the batteries out.
Clearly according to TheBump standards, I'm a "bad mom." But hey, I've never fed either kid a dreaded pouch [only because DD1 won't touch anything pureed]. ;]
Oh no, not the dreaded pouches! That's like, the worst thing someone could ever do. Good thing you haven't given into temptation. At least you put your shopping cart away, right, right?! (sarcasm font)
I'm sick of people thinking I'm nuts and trying to make me feel bad for wanting to bf until ds weans himself. I mean hello human breast milk is made to feed humans to age 7....cow's milk was made to feed COWS not humans. lol

Same. DS never took a pacifier. I was just telling DH that I feel like I'm at the point in BFing where you do it "quietly" without talking about it.
I've made it no secret that I love BFing DS, but I especially love it more now that I'm back to work PT and miss bedtime or overnight sometimes. DS just seems so happy/content when he finally gets to nurse!

What's a pouch?
ok, I don't get the pouch thing either. I guess there was some big to do about it on the SAHM board. What's the problem with them?
I've never given DS one. Guess I didn't really know about them. He eats table food. I would consider it as an on the go snack if I thought he'd eat it instead if play with it. It says Organic on it, how bad can it be right :P lol

Oh I love the pouches and don't believe they are full of sugar!! I've found some great ones made by Baby Gourmet that are awesome. We travel a lot and they are wonderful on the plane! Not to mention at the beach, in the car, at the park, etc.
Does it make you a "slightly" better mom if the pouchesnbsp;are organic?
What if my kid wears an amber teething necklace? Will that draw out some of the poison?
I guess it depends on if the food inside the pouch is organic... Or just the pouch.

We use Baby Gourmet too. I love how convenient they are and they are organic! DD likes these the best because they have more creative flavours. I don't get the uproar over them at all haha.

Ha!! If LO is eating the pouch, even if it is organic, then you're losing good Mom points.

Yup they have such awesome flavours! The uproar is because, eh, I guess people need something to uproar about!

yeah, my thoughts exactly. These people obviously don't have enough to worry about. Well, Jack freakin loves pouches. He gets mostly organic ones. Flame away! LOL
Oh and mine is more of a confession. I let DD watch an episode of Blues Clues every morning. She loves it and it gives me just enough time to fully wake up for the day. I don't think I'd survive without it. And I don't care that they aren't supposed to watch tv until they're 2.
oye! Parker has been watching baby Einstein since like 4 months old! He loves them and laughs away! Man, I suck as a mom

I wish people would stop bothering me about buying a house. We like our apartment, thank you very much, and it's way bigger/cheaper than any house we could afford, unless we moved out in the boonies. Plus, we suck at renovations/gardening/general maintenance and it's way easier to have someone else take care of it. I don't want to give up living life just to say I own the place I live in.
I'm with you guys on the pouches as well as the watching tv. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is great for giving me a few minutes of peace. Plus, she's so cute when she dances with them!
DS dances to the Brady Bunch intro lmao that is the only show he actually watches. He's not a tv person and I'm fine with that.
We watch the Bubble Guppies regularly. It's so cute the way he starts dancing when he hears the theme song. I don't see the problem with TV. I grew up with it. My parents both worked two jobs so there wasn't much else to do. I turned out perfect, I think ;
My 3 year old is learning spanish off of Dora. I figure if he's learning from it then what is the harm? I don't think tv is the end of the world. I also think the pouches are convenient. Kenna loves the applesauce from chick fil a and i let her eat as much as she wants! I think there are too many helicopter parents that are just sitting around waiting to one up every one else in the world.

I'm over the vampire thing and have been since Angel, David Borneaz, became an FBI agent.
I'm thinking of calling in sick tomorrow because Saturday is DS's birthday. It's going to be crazy busy and I just want a quiet day for the two of us.
DS never really took to a pacifier and still comforts nurses too. I got home late lastnight and he cried until I got home and then pretty much nursed the whole night.
So jealous. I have yet to do this and I wish I could!
