I think charcoal grills are gross, the food tastes funny if it is cooked on charcoal.
This seems so strange to me. I love grilling over charcoal because I feel that it give the food a more rich flavor, like cooking over a camp fire.
Do you also dislike smoked meats?
some. I think my biggest issue is the lighter fluid, you gotta give that shiz time to burn off and most of the time it doesn't happen. Charcoal grilled items give me the burps!
We don't use lighter fluid when we grill with charcoal. We use charcoal made from hardwood that is basically just pieces of charred firewood. I think the brand is Cowboy or something. Anyway, we have a charcoal "chimney" that you put the charcoal in to start it over a gas burner (we have one on our grill) so that all you taste when grilling is the smokey flavor of the coals.
I agree that the taste of lighter fluid would suck.

I don't understand the whole football culture. I get that it is fun to cheer for a team, get together to watch games, etc.
What I don't understand is how some people let a certain team define who they are.
SD Chargers beach towel, SD Chargers car stickers, SD Chargers beer cozy, SD Chargers umbrella, curtains, rugs, plates, etc etc etc. Just too much.
True story: the store down the street from me sells devotional books and bible study guides for various football team fans. Each daily devotion begins with a quote from the team's current or former coaches and ends with a bible verse.

My UO - Its TTGP related! I think its stupid that people put "PNVs" in the "what are you doing?" sections of "waiting to O." PNVs are a good idea but they aren't helping you get pregnant. I read that section as what are you doing to stack the odds, not what are your best practices.
I never thought of it that way. I always thought of that section as all the TTC related stuff you are doing for that month both to help you conceive and to prepare your body for a healthy pregnancy.

This is taking about sports being religion too far.
I love football & I love my team but that's taking it a wee bit too far.
Heck, I live in a province where IF treatment are free. I'll never ever ever complain about having to wait.
Hold the phone! IF treatments are free in Quebec??? I'm moving to Canada! We pay out the azz for our insurance & zero IF is covered. I mean not even a round of Clomid or Femara will be covered.
Just in Quebec, not all of Canada.
Yes, just in Quebec. They will revise the bill later this year though. They suddenly realised that it cost a lot of money. Still, I know we're extremely lucky.
ETA: RocknRoll - I was out to lunch and missed the convo - but I do agree with a split system.

Another. Vera Bradley bags are hideous. They look like something a senile and blind old grandma with no sense of style would buy at a thrift store or yard sale. I can't believe that people pay so much money for those ugly azz things. I don't care if they're functional, those things are fugly! And for the record some girls at work were looking at them the other night and went back through every pattern they've ever had...like back to the 80s and they're all fugly. So don't give me the "yeah some of the patterns are bad but there are some really cute ones" line cause its BS, BS!
damn those ugly bags get me fired up.
LOL! I thought I was the only one who hated those things so passionately! They're fugly as all hell!
Both of your names have been added to my post it.
is that the Vera Bradley haters post it? If so you can add me 5 times for my extreme hatred
You would hate being around me. I own like, 30 Vera bags and wallets/wristlets..My diaper bag for DS was Vera. My next diaper bag will be Vera. I effing love Vera.
are you by chance 95, senile and blind yet still possess the ute of a much younger woman?
Nope. I'm 60 years younger than that, perfect vision, great memory lol

Well... I did say it was unpopular >.^ Sorry for the confusion - I do think I can think homosexuality is wrong without having anything against homosexuals.

Ladies, I feel like trying to defend my opinion will run in circles. I hope you will not hold my oddities against me... just know that although I'm weird, my heart's in the right place and I'm not out for any blood. I'm just a little over analytical.
WHAT? I may hold against you that this is the oddest ( and still idiotic ) thing you have said yet.

This isn't an "oddity", it is a discriminatory point of view. And I'm also curious about the "over analytical" comment - of what, exactly?

By overly analytical, I only meant that I was over-complicating something that most people see as black-and-white.
Do I win the most unpopular opinion award? >.^
FWIW, none of my homosexual friends (now that I'm thinking about it, I realized I only have one lesbian friend compared to all my gay friends... weird...) would say I was bigoted or discriminatory. One of them might think it and not tell me, but the rest certainly would fuss at me.
All that to say, I always appreciate the benefit of the doubt. Even if you don't understand what I'm poorly trying to express. I certainly appreciate your opinions. I'm a firm believer that varying opinions - even to the point of conflict - fuels progress.

This still doesn't make any sense. What do most people see as black and white? And what are you over complicating.
All I see in this post is a bunch of words thrown out without any explanation as to what they mean and a weird explanation to justify why it's okay to think homosexuality is wrong.
Also I highly doubt your homosexual "friends" know how you really feel about them. And if they were able to see your original post they would probably be extremely offended.

OP, you keep talking in circles.

I don't know why people think getting a bill for medical care is unfair. Its a service you pay for. If you didn't pay for it, who do you think would? I wish healthcare could be more affordable but the reality is that it can never be free.

I really don't think submitting the bolded part was a very wise decision..
I don't know why people think getting a bill for medical care is unfair. Its a service you pay for. If you didn't pay for it, who do you think would? I wish healthcare could be more affordable but the reality is that it can never be free.
Who said getting a medical bill is unfair? I don't think it's fair it can go onto your credit report, because most people don't willingly try to rack up more medical expenses than they can pay.
Its a few pages back I think- I read the whole thread before posting my UO. Someone said its not fair to get a big bill for getting sick. However, I also think its fair for it to go on your credit report. Its a bill, and if you don't pay it the person owed money certainly is within their rights to send it to collections in an attempt to regain some of the moneys owed. Perhaps its not something you can afford, but its also not something the provider can afford to give away for free. Also, as long as you are willing to work with a provider and pay in installments this normally prevents it being sent to collections/added to your credit report.

Saying you are against homosexuality and think it is wrong, makes you a homophobe, by definition.
Also, I doubt you would make up a bigoted opinion, so nice try.
So you're ok with people being gay, cause you have gay friends, and you're ok if they get married, but you're anti-homosexuality? Is that the same as the church trying to say being homosexual isn't wrong but the act of homosexuality is wrong? You can be gay but you can't have gay sex?? You have yet to really tell us what your opinion is because you keep backpedaling trying not to be called a homophobe.

I haven't had to do it yet, so I don't know, but will doctors offices or hospitals accept a $20/month payment on, say, a $20,000k hospital bill, knowing it will never get paid off?
I agree hospitals can't pay for it on their own, but there are situations where there's realistically no way people are going to be able to pay a bill off. It's a lose-lose situation, for sure.
Thats what a friend of mine did with her daughter's medical bills. I think she was in close contact with the billing department and they made adjustments along the way.

I don't know if this was aimed at me. I did mention recently going to the hospital and getting a huge bill. My biggest beef isn't that healthcare isn't free, but just that I think the prices are highly inflated. I think the way the system is set up, it encourages the hospitals to charge more for their services than they need to. I don't really know what the solution is though. I agree with rocknroll that there should be some sort of middle ground between the US system and the Canadian system. So people wouldn't have to go bankrupt, but also not have waitlists etc.
I don't know who it was aimed at because I posted after reading everything and don't remember who said what. Do you know exactly what is included in your hospital bill? It might seem inflated, but there are a hell of a lot of people who get paid out of it. The bolded seems contradictory to me too- I don't want to have to pay too much for it but I don't want to have to wait either!
My original post was that I thought I should be allowed to have my own opinions without being lumped as a homophobe. And also that I believed in marriage equality. Forgive me if I over-generalized by saying most people see this as black-and-white.

What I want to know is why any ones '"act of homosexuality" is ANY OF YOUR BUSINESS? Do they comment on your sexual activities?
ETA" that would kinda be like me saying " Hey, I like you as a person" " Oh, wait you like girl on top" "you're a slut and we can't be friends"
----See how that is none of my bees wax and has nothing to do with you being a slut?

I never understood that argument - it's ok that you're gay but you can't engage in any homosexual activities, mind baffling to me.
Also MJ, how can you say you're against the act of homosexuality but you support gay marriage? What do you think they're going to do, be married and never have sex??

ETA: It means prenatal vitamins, doesn't it. That makes more sense.
Bwahahahaha! Sorry, I had to laugh at this one!

Sorry, wasn't trying to backpedal, just trying to keep it friendly. You are more than welcome to call me a homophobe.
Yes, act of homosexuality - but, again, that's me and my life, not you and yours.
I have really tried hard to monitor this board, but I have to bow out... work is crazy right now! I know, I know... I'm wimping out >.^ I'm sure you won't mind.
Oh, and I'm not trying to pretend I faked my opinion, I was just kidding around >.^
What I'm trying (and failing miserably) to say is that I have the same opinion as this guy.
What does this >.^ thing you keep typing mean? It looks like a cat with a broken ear.
i hardcore snickered at that.
CalinAZ:
I think it is cruel to verbally abuse telemarketers. I was one as a 16 year old kid, and it was horrible, getting death threats, vulgar propositions, and other horrible things that no one should hear, but especially a kid. I appreciate not really getting telemarketer calls now that I don't have a land line, but I do try to be polite if I do get them as I'm hanging up on them. There could be a kid on the other line, but, regardless it is a person. Berating telemarketers won't change anything - if you have a problem take it up with the company that uses that practice. You shouldn't ever give yourself the right to be abusive to another person, and feel superior about it.
I would like to give this post a slow clap.
Also, to those Canadians discussing long wait times - last week I had to see a doctor for a chest cough/sinus cold/asthma attack that just wouldn't quit, and couldn't get into my doctor that day. I went to the nearby walk-in clinic that also has regular appointments times with the doctors if you are a regular patient there. I waited for three freaking hours. I decided to go ask if I would be seen soon, as I was missing work to be there, and it turned out, the receptionist hasn't actually submitted me into the system. I was technically waiting to see no one. I was pretty furious.
Well... I did say it was unpopular >.^ Sorry for the confusion - I do think I can think homosexuality is wrong without having anything against homosexuals.
...snip...
Yeah, it's only getting worst. Analytical of what??
You will never win this argument here but stand up for what you believe! I know exactly what you are trying to say and I agree with you 100%. Call me a homophobe. Idgaf.

Re: UO Thursday
We don't use lighter fluid when we grill with charcoal. We use charcoal made from hardwood that is basically just pieces of charred firewood. I think the brand is Cowboy or something. Anyway, we have a charcoal "chimney" that you put the charcoal in to start it over a gas burner (we have one on our grill) so that all you taste when grilling is the smokey flavor of the coals.
I agree that the taste of lighter fluid would suck.

Food cooked over charcoal tastes amaaaaazing!
True story: the store down the street from me sells devotional books and bible study guides for various football team fans. Each daily devotion begins with a quote from the team's current or former coaches and ends with a bible verse.

I never thought of it that way. I always thought of that section as all the TTC related stuff you are doing for that month both to help you conceive and to prepare your body for a healthy pregnancy.

Yes, just in Quebec. They will revise the bill later this year though. They suddenly realised that it cost a lot of money. Still, I know we're extremely lucky.
ETA: RocknRoll - I was out to lunch and missed the convo - but I do agree with a split system.
No way. They have a daily devotion? Bible study guides for various football teams? This is cray cray!
Nope. I'm 60 years younger than that, perfect vision, great memory lol
I had to google them but yeah, Fugly Fugly Fugly....

No worries! That sucks they're going to revise the bill, for a second there I thought you meant they're going to revise it to include all of Canada. I got a little excited lol.
By overly analytical, I only meant that I was over-complicating something that most people see as black-and-white.

Officially OFF drugs!
I'm confused... wait... no, I'm not... I think.
BAHAHAHA! That is awesome. I can't stop laughing.
So OP, you are Anti-Homesexuality, yet you have a bunch of gay friends?
Cool story, bro.
My original post was that I thought I should be allowed to have my own opinions without being lumped as a homophobe. And also that I believed in marriage equality. Forgive me if I over-generalized by saying most people see this as black-and-white.
I don?t really know how to address your second paragraph. And I shouldn?t have paraded my gay friends on the internet like little tokens of how awesome I am. That would probably be more humiliating to them than my opinion. I do apologize for doing that, it was wrong.
You?re welcome to highly doubt me ? this is the internet, after all! Maybe I don?t even have this opinion and I?m trying to make Thursday a little more interesting? >.^
Officially OFF drugs!
I'm confused... wait... no, I'm not... I think.

I really don't think submitting the bolded part was a very wise decision..
This is perfect!
О Привязать! Z!
Because saying that you are for mariage equality totaly negates your homophobic remarks ...
Team Purple!!!!
Thats what a friend of mine did with her daughter's medical bills. I think she was in close contact with the billing department and they made adjustments along the way.

I think it's supposed to be a winky face.
О Привязать! Z!
Team Purple!!!!
