Trying to wean

So I'm trying to wean my 20-month-old DD off the boob, and would like to know of anyone else who did it, particularly around this age.

I post here because I'm a single mom. She sleeps just fine at night for XH and for naps at my friends' houses. But with me she CONSTANTLY wants to nurse to sleep, whenever I sit down, just all the time! Its really tiring. I've gotten to where we don't nurse out of the house, but I really want to wean her from night nursing.

 Any and all suggestions welcome as she gets TERRIBLY upset if I refuse to nurse her to sleep.

My LO is only 2 1/2 months, so I don't have any advice, but you also might want to XP to the BF or AP boards. I see this issue come up a lot over there.

My daughter was 19 months old when we went through the same thing. It took a few nights, but I just didn't offer/provide my breast, and learned other ways to get her to sleep.
