Once you picked DC's name, did you end up changing it?

DD was going to be Alexis Breanne up until I was around 32 weeks pregnant.  My shower invites even had a sonogram picture of her at the top with "Lexi" because my Grandma and Aunt had already made them when Dh and I changed it to Alyssa Claire.  What's even more weird is that when I was 12, I picked Alyssa as the name of my future DD (after Alyssa Millano).

  • Yes. DS was going to be William until a week or so before he was born. Then I discovered that DH was going to call him "Willy" (and was serious!)  I pulled veto power and we changed it at the last minute.

  • We went into the OR with 3 names; Amelia, Sabrina & Lillian.  We walked out with a Keira (which is the name I wanted from the start).  :)

  • this is why I didn't name DD before she was born.

My DH's aunt told me her second DD was supposed to be a Jessica - she even had a blanket with the name on it.  When she came out, she looked at her and said "No, she ISN'T a Jessica"  So, her name is Katie.

  • Not with DS#1.  Once we picked it that was it.
But with this one, it is harder.  We have been calling him Owen and were sure that was the name.  But the last two weeks or so we have been debating other names.  It is very stressful.

  • We picked DS's name years ago, and kept it. We didn't know his sex though, so we also had a girl name all picked out. It was Alexandra Nicole up until about 39 weeks, then it was Adrienne Renee. I am so glad we didn't have a girl, because I wasn't really crazy about either name.

  • Once we knew DS was a boy, we picked a name and stuck with it to the end. Then again, DH and I only agreed on one name! LOL

  • Nope.  I knew he was going to be Jackson from the moment I got pregnant (if he was a boy).  I'd decided that when I was like 10 - from the movie Steel Magnolias.

You know, Shelby's husband.  Her mom says, "Jackson comes from a good old southern family with good old southern values -- you either shoot it, stuff it, or marry it."  Loved the name since the first time I saw that movie and heard that quote.  :)

  • We found out DD was a girl when I was 31w pg. We debated names for a few weeks and then when I was maybe 34w we settled on one we thought we were going to use, but didn't tell anyone. Then when I was about 38w we changed our minds and went with Christa Nicole. I'm glad - it suits her much better!

  • She was going to be Marie Katherine.  Then towards the end of pregnancy I was watching Everybody Loves Raymond and after that whenever I heard Marie I could only think of that old, crazy mom.  Also, I thought it sounded too close to Mary Kate Olsen.  So it is Katherine Marie and she goes by Kate:)
  • DH's way of battling my indecisiveness is to make me stick to my decisions, so once we agreed on a boy name and a girl name for #1 (we didn't find out the sex), it was set. He did let me change the middle name a few weeks before DS was born. Now with #2, we're just using the girl name from #1. It has never changed....she'll be Emma

  • His first name is a family name and every generation of DH's family has a Joel.  Sometimes its a first name, sometimes its a middle name...there is even an only child that is a girl with the middle name Joel.

His middle name was a debate.....before we even were married we wanted Joel Seitzer...then DH decided that Seitzer was too out of the box (it was originally his choice)...so we went back to the drawing board.  So...we ended up with Alexander...only a few days before he was born.

  • For #1 we were set with Noah Benjamin pretty early on.  Our girl name was Mia Grace.  That would have definitely changed.  By the end of my pg I didn't like it any more.
