Anyone get nauseous AFTER napping?

So weird, but I have noticed that napping during the day [when I can] tends to make my nausea worse. I'm thinking it could be due to eating beforehand and then I get indigestion, but it happens every time, even if I eat a small amount or wait a little while before lying down.

Which is sad, because if DD goes down for a nap, which doesn't always happen these days, I would love to take advantage of the chance to sleep too! Does this happen to anyone else? Overall the nausea seems to be going away and it's not even too bad now, just annoying that I was feeling pretty good till I woke up a bit ago. But I'll still take this over feeling horrible 24/7!

    Yes!  I do think it's starting to get a little better, but for a while there every day when DS woke up from his nap (and ergo I woke up from mine) that I started feeling disgusting the rest of the day.

    I wonder how much of that is me jolting awake to a toddler's cries over the monitor and feeling sick to my stomach that he didn't sleep long enough and fearing that the rest of the afternoon was going to be a hot mess...

  • I believe, after you wake up your blood sugar is the lowest. I usually feel this way after I nap and will snack on something and feel much better.

  • I will feel nauseous, grumpy, headache, EVERYTHING after I nap.  It's such a double edged sword, I'm so tired and WANT to nap, but I feel worse after I do!  Although to be honest I usually feel pretty crappy in the afternoon and evening regardless of if I nap or not.

    Interesting to know that others have experienced this. Just another weird pregnancy thing! I also didn't think about blood sugar being low...I think I may try not napping tomorrow and see how I feel.

  • I always find that my blood sugar and blood pressure are low after a nap. If you drink soda, try a swig of something caffeinated. That should help both problems.
