Low dose Injects?

So the RE got back to us and recommened my doctor do low dose injects for my IUI cycle.  I've never done injects before and don't meet with my doctor until Monday. I O on my own and responded with 4 follies to clomid. Injects make me nervous, and I'm trying to figure out why they want me to try them.

Can anyone tell me what injects and doses they were on? What cycle days do you take them? Are they always accompanied by a trigger? Any experience and/or info would be great. I've never researched injects and don't want to go into this appointment completely blind.

I O on my own, and on clomid 50mg usually had three follies. I take only 75iu of follistim cd4 through cd10. And usually have two or three ready to trigger by cd11.

Do you usually O on your own around CD11 or do the injects change that timing too?

Edit: The reason I ask, is we are going out of town and based on my usually cycle I O around CD16, so knew about when we would do our IUI. TIA

I have taken Gonal-f for the past couple of cycle and I had to stim for about a week and a half on dosages between 75IU up to 150IU just depending on my growth.  I was ready to trigger around CD16.  So, I am a much slower responder and have a crap ton of follicles so they need to go slow and steady with me, so I don't think I am in the same boat as you.  

I love the injectables and I feel like I do better emotionally with them compared to when I tried Clomid (which I did not respond to at all).  They are very easy and not painful at all.

Sorry, went to bed after I responded last night.  No, when I Ovulate on my own it's between cd13 and cd15.  But on injects, I am ready to trigger cd11, which means with shot I still ovulate on cd13.  So while it's on the early side, it's still in my normal window of O.  But if you usually O around cd16, I bet you'll O before then on injects, but don't know if I'd want to risk it personally.

Thanks everyone. I think because I am going out of town for 2 weeks the end of June I don't want to risk injects. I wouldn't be able to do proper monitoring. Think I'll save that for July!!
