I had a full time nanny position for 2 years before we had DS. My nanny kids are in school now, but I'm still very close to the family and take care of them during the summers. I'm lucky that they love DS and he accompanies me.

I worked for a mental health organization doing mental health supports. I had 6 clients with varying degrees of mental illnesses, helped them with community integration, doctors appointments etc. My main goal was to support them in staying well and not secluded at home so they required less hospitalizations.
I was a retail manager. Prior to that I was in special, events and the retail gig was supposed to be temporary until I found a better job but then I (finally) got pregnant.

I worked in a living history museum (think Williamsburg but much smaller and far less funding). I was a costumed interpreter and school tour specialist.
I was a consultant. I worked with small businesses on their policies and procedures, handled unemployment claims, repped them at administrative state hearings, etc.
I recently went back to work. DH has had some pretty serious health problems and hasn't been able to work. I still like to post on this board though
Cool, what kind of doc are you?
Sorry about your husband, btw. Is he doing better?
I'm a psychiatrist. I do consults at a community hospital, go to Alzheimer's units at a couple of local nursing homes, and have a small private practice that I had before I "went back to work."
And thanks. He is back home now and doing better. Hopefully he will get back to work soon, but he's taking it slow.
I was a case manager in the mental health field during the day and a dance teacher/performer in the evenings. When we moved and I was pregnant I did some substitute teaching and personal training, as well.

These are all such needed and thankless jobs. That is awesome that you chose to go into pyschiatry and work with kids and older adults. I am really sorry your husband has been sick.
Teacher for 8 years. Kindergarten and Second grade. I'm actually going to go back to work on the last day of school this year (next friday) and cut my maternity leave off a day early. But then I'm DONE. I have missed it but I will continue to half day substitute for my teacher friends to bring home some extra $ next year. ( and see all my former students and coworkers)
Nothing has compared to the past 9 weeks+ being at home with my bebe....I'm so grateful to be doing it full time now!!!
