Hi everyone. I'm a FTM, so I frequently need tips when something new comes up. DS has a crib with the attached changing table (very small room; we had to have a tall narrow dresser for him, and condensing the crib/changing table made sense). Well, we just realized that he is quickly approaching the 30 lb weight limit on the attached changing table. (He is 13 months old now, but at his 1 yr appt, he was 32 1/2 in tall and 27lbs12oz). So obviously, we need to detach the changing table. As luck would have it, we're also moving in 2 to 3 months, and his new room is bigger.
Should we look for a separate changing table with a higher weight limit? Or another small, low dresser than we can use as a changing table? Or, if not, what does everyone do instead? (When we're downstairs in the living room, I just change him on the floor. I'm wondering more about after bathtime though. Do you just lay a towel down and get them diapered/lotioned/pajamed on the floor of the bedroom?) Just looking to see what other moms do/have done. Thanks!

I think I stopped using a changing table when DD was like 2 months old!
I just find the floor to be so much easier. Downstairs we have a changing pad on the floor. After we give DD a bath upstairs, I simply put a towel on the floor in her room and change her on the floor.
I just use the floor. We've never had a changing table except for the first couple of weeks when we used the flimsy one attached to the PnP. We have always either put a towel down on the bed or on the floor.
